Having just posted in the thread for one word book titles, how about a thread for long titles. Not counting the definite or indefinite article that a title might start with, and leaving out the non-fiction books that seem to consist of a whole paragraph on their own, let's see how many fiction book titles we can find with 5 or more words in the title.

In the Houses of the West by Christopher Burns
Midnight is a Lonely Place by Barbara Erskine
The Church of the Dead Girls by Stephen Dobyns
On Her Majesty's Secret Service by Ian Fleming
The Man With a Load of Mischief by Martha Grimes

The problem with some of these very long titles is that they won't touchstone!

I'm limiting myself to the 20th century, because those old timers could really work a title back in the day.

What Came Before He Shot Her, Elizabeth George
Pardon Me, You're Stepping on My Eyeball, Paul Zindel
So Long As You Both Shall Live, Ed McBain
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Judith Viorst
I Been in Sorrow's Kitchen and Licked Out All the Pots, Susan Straight
