whimsicalkitten: While only a very small portion of Dying to Please describes the relationship between the obsessed abductor and his victim, that part did remind me of The Collector, although much more heavy handed and less elegant than John Fowles' work
L'histoire d'une obsession pathologique, celle d'un jeune homme timide pour la fille dont il est amoureux. Faute de pouvoir la séduire, il l'enlève et la "collectionne" comme un papillon. John Fowles est un très grand ecrivain, à l'aise dans les obsessions. Il a ensuite écrit The Magus, et La Maitresse du lieutenant français.
