I can't remember reading this as a child. As a young adult, I read several of E.B. White's non-fiction and really liked it. I have a copy of Trumpet of the Swan, so I read that recently and borrowed Charlotte's Web from the library. Maybe being somewhat aware of the storyline ruined Charlotte's Web for me, because I really enjoyed Trumpet of the Swan much more. Maybe I should revisit Stuart Little, too.
Just re-read this as part of the Great American Read and it still doesn't grab me. Something about the way Fern loses interest in Wilbur and Charlotte is left to die alone leaves me feeling cold. ( )
