>3 Sakerfalcon: Curious how you'll find it. I read it not so long ago, and if I remember correctly, I wasn't completely satisfied with it.

Currently reading the Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss...

Taking the plunge into Dust of Dreams, in hopes of finally finishing the main Malazan series. 2016 was a year of a lot of shorter reads for me, so jumping back into these is especially daunting.

>4 zjakkelien: I've just finished and I'm glad I read it although it felt rushed at the end. Meche is a fascinating and really quite horrible character, but you can see why her friends stick with her for so long. It was the present day story that I think was weak; it was ridiculous that Meche still hadn't grown up enough to be civil to Sebastian when they meet again after 20 years. So when they got together at the end it didn't feel real; I couldn't see the change happen in her. I liked the Mexico City setting a lot, and the music-based magic.

>8 seitherin:, nice! I'm reading Shadowplay, had this series waiting on the shelf for years and think I'll get through it first before returning to Osten Ard.

>11 Cecrow: Nice. I hope you enjoy the books.

>7 Sakerfalcon: Yeah, I had a problem with that as well. I didn't like Meche in either timeline. Her reactions as an adult are disappointing, and also as a teenager, she did some disgusting things.
I thought it was a pity, because I did like the music magic and the setting.

I just left the Realm of the Elderlings from Robin Hobb's Liveship trilogy.
This is my second of hers, after reading the Farseer Trilogy that starts the series. I actually liked the second trilogy better, and am eager to get to the next trilogy.

>19 Darth-Heather:, I read those trilogies in the opposite order and still came away with the same impression (i.e. Liveship trilogy was better).
