Where's your reading taking you?

I started Curse of Chalion a few days ago and became entranced. I finished the last 20 pages this morning and immediately purchased Paladin of Souls. I am currently in Chalion and loving it.

Nearly done Moon Witch, Spider King by Marlon James. Easier read than the first book was (Black Leopard, Red Wolf).

Reading Magic claims, set in post-shift (magical) Wilmington.

I just finished Best Served Cold. I thought it was excellent. Jumping back over to SF to read The Ferryman, Justin Cronin's newest novel. I LOVED The Passage trilogy, so I bought this without knowing much about it.

I'm back in Chicago for a Battle Ground.

I'm still in Chalion for Paladin of Souls.

i spent some time on a small island on the Atlantic coast of Rhode Island in the late 1800s, with a Keeper of enchanted rooms. The main characters are a writer who's working on his first novel, the magical house that he recently inherited from a distant relative, and the woman specially trained in dealing with magical buildings. Magic falls into several category clusters, and magical ability runs in families, so there are a couple of puzzles there.

The main antagonist is a guy who inherited a talent for necromancy and somehow figured out how to acquire other people's magic. (It's not pretty.) There's a mild romance subplot (thoughts and glances but nothing more), too. And a little bit of the problems that a fiction writer faces, which is nicely meta. A pleasant read.

Paladin of Souls came to a moving (for me) conclusion and I have started book 3, The Hallowed Hunt

Just finished Scratch daughters by H.A. Clarke. A satisfying conclusion, perhaps, despite the chaos during the denoument. I'll have to read the first book, now.

I am somewhere in the Cosmere with Yumi and the Nightmare Painter.

I'm in a alternative 10th century Ireland with The children of gods and fighting men

Starting Southwest Nights, an urban fantasy set in the Phoenix metro area.

I'm back in Sycamore Grove, meeting the witch and soon-to-be witches in The Scapegracers by H.A. Grace. It's October, so the spooky parties have started.

Ready to DNF Southwest Nights and pick up LE Modesitt Jr's Imager Portfolio. Re-reading book 1 to start. Here I come Solidar!
