A propos de ma bibliothèque

My Library represents books that have shaped my reading/writing life. I've tried to write at least a brief review of every book I've read since 2001.

I use the ratings to assess both how much I liked the book and also how significant it was in my overall reading life. I rate books on a scale of 1-5 and use half stars to assess significance:

5 - Reserved for my top 5 books of each year + especially significant books. (10/9)

4 - Books rated 4 and 4.5 are essentially all 4 stars. A good read but not an absolute favorite. More significant books/authors get an extra half star. (4.5 - 5-8; 4 - 3-4 or first)

3 - Books rated 3 and 3.5 stars are all 3 stars. Just okay but there were flaws that got in the way or the book wasn't particularly memorable. More significant reads get an extra half star. (3.5 - 1-2; 3 - 0 or no)

2 - Books I thought I would like but were in some way disappointing (3+)

1 - All books I did not finish get this rating. (tagged unfinished)

0.5 - These are books I particularly loathed. (rare)
