There's something really satisfying to me about a campaign setting that explains why people might be so cavalier about their lives in a world with a reasonably high standard of living (as most D&D settings are). It is also nice to give players the option to keep playing after death rather than rolling a new character, and to be resurrected without that becoming a major adventure all on its own. The feel of a city where ghosts and living people cohabitate openly is really fresh, especially since it avoids the baggage of necromancers and necrocracy.

I have just begun DM'ing a campaign in D&D Fifth Edition, using this sourcebook for the setting. Even after so many changes and intervening editions, about 80% of the material in the book is still applicable and works very well. I ran the level one adventure about a malfunctioning magic lantern almost verbatim, and my players really enjoyed it.

This was a great story set in Waterdeep and the Ghost Holds. The story jumps around quite a bit, but it isn't too hard to follow. The artwork is fantastic.

I have only read one book in the Forgotten Realms series, so playing D&D in the Forgotten Realms is a little challenging for me...but my first time went pretty well and I really enjoy playing. So exciting!

You can always count on Monte to bring something totally cool and original to the table. He's not afraid think outside the box. I've wanted this book for a long time and finally found a great deal and picked it up. It's got a setting, a bunch of new rules, spells, feats, prestige classes, monsters and even 7 adventures starting at 1st level going up to 12th.

That said, it's definitely not something you just drop into your campaign and I would probably never use it. Still very cool though. I guess the only thing I don't like about it is that it's all centered on one city (which is I think what he did with Ptolus too, the reason I never looked into that).… (plus d'informations)
