Amazing read I heartily recommend for both content and structure.

Colin's method of splitting the tale (in Book 1 and this one) up among a variety of narrators and story threads makes this a fascinating series--as if the full story narrative skips stones across the whole and each person's story is its own rippling impact.

Watching the various threads interact and cross made me want to sit down and reread Book 1 as well to count just how many plot "balls" are still in motion, as I want to be ready for Book 3's continuation of the surprising twists at the end of this book.… (plus d'informations)

A diabolical empire is far more fascinating than I ever expected (as I've never been one to use devils or demons in my campaigns). Making it more than just a moustache-twirling society, Keith & others expand the information on Cheliax and make it a living setting worth looking into for ideas both within the Golarion setting and in any others.

Bias alert: I contributed to this book (overruns of my Westcrown article for PATHFINDER #25 Bastards of Erebus).

I am very glad I timed my reading of this book so that I'm able to immediately plunge into Book 2. I was a bit slow to start but the story gathered momentum with every page. I can't wait to dig into these characters and the world they inhabit as this story continues. Well done, Colin!

Good story and there seems to be a lot of "history" behind the world, but the story and characters were very simple.
