Omg, I love mr. whiskers, is he not adorable? And I love how he nicknamed the Nanigan sister the Shenanigan Sisters, lol. That just ticked me pink. These sisters are just the sweetest and most curious and Mr. Whiskers makes a great companion for them. And when their dad, a college professor is kidnapped by an “FBI” agent, the girls know something suspicious is up and only they and their loyal dog friend can save him. Dad’s parting words left them with some clues that will lead to a secret room in the boarding house they are staying at, a wild bicycle ride around town and to straight to the heart of the mystery which will surprise everyone involved. First sentence: Leda knew the minute she fell out of bed--gravity was in a bad mood. Again.

Premise/plot: What you see is what you get. Leda has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day all thanks to gravity. The two are normally friends. Leda is a science lover. Can these two make up before bedtime?

My thoughts: The book has a lot of descriptive language. Especially when it comes to verbs. But it also packs in a lot of un-subtle science-y facts. Which could be good or bad depending on if you want a funny story or a science-themed slightly less funny story. It's not bad. It's not. It has some good elements to it. But it is like when broccoli is hidden in a cookie. I am rating three stars, but it is closer to three and a half stars.… (plus d'informations)

Sammy Keyes finds herself on the case again, when she has to find a missing Pomeranian. Seems the pup is quite valuable and the owner is a real pain. Also Sammy was responsible for the dog during its riding on a float in the Christmas parade, but the dog escaped!

As Sammy investigates, she finds the dog’s owner is quite a despicable person, and isn’t like by many who know her. Could this be a kidnapping and that is why Sammy can’t find the pup?

Sammy also finds herself with a “runaway elf” on her hands, named Elyssa. A little girl in need of a friend and also has some serious questions on her mind.

A theme that runs through this book is “loss. Different characters have loved ones they have lost through death or otherwise, and find they’ve yet to deal with it.

This is a fun read from a series. Sammy is pretty smart and not afraid to go after a solution when there is a mystery or problem to solve.… (plus d'informations)
