Historical fiction about Andrew Jackson. Didnt enjoy it too much due to too much time spent on the life of a fictional biographer of Jackson, and not much actually spent on Jackson himself. Dwelled on Rachel Jackson's alleged marriage before divorce final.

Writer/photographer Annie March arrives in Paris with her sometime friend and sometime enemy, Martha Gelhorn to write about the war. At a dance, Martha introduces Annie to two handsome American GI's, Michael Shaw and BT Adams. The two had been roommates at Harvard, although they gone in two different directions during the war: Shaw into the infantry and Adams into strategic staff work. Both fall in love with Annie, although her preference is definitely towards Shaw.

The book is told in alternating sections between Annie and Martha's work writing the war, and Shaw and Adams fighting it. The latter sections are especially riveting (and terrifying). This is definitely an better than average book in what is now agenre in historical fiction.… (plus d'informations)

This is an ok somewhat short story about a journalist (who tangentially was a cohort of Martha Gellhorn) & her relationship with one of 2 Harvard friends serving in WWII. The narrator annoyed me early on; overdone. The conclusion, while emotional, wasn’t quite the bombshell I was led to believe.
