When I left Holland in 1997 I sold a lot of books and left some behind with my parents. In the last 12 years I ve build up a new modest library. Some of my favourite writers are Thomas Mann, Knut Hamsun, J.M. Coetzee, Mishima and John F. Fitzgerald.

Since my teenage years I also developed a love for Russian literature: Dostoevsky, Gogol, Gontsjarov, Lermontov, Chekhov. Hard to mention a favourite here but I think The Brothers Karamazov is brilliant!

Further I kept some of the best Dutch literature, for example the early works of Gerard Reve; S. Vestdijk, De Koperen Tuin; Nescio, De Uitvreter; Louis Couperus, De Stille Kracht.

Dutchman, born 30th August 1964, migrated in 1997 to London, UK. Now living in the small town of Twickenham with a view on the river Thames. Working for an American IT company. Hobbies: Chess, Literature, Music (both rock and classical).
