The Sol Majestic: A novel par Ferrett Steinmetz
I really liked this book. I loved the characters, and the lower stakes. The food descriptions were amazing. I did think the pacing of the romance plot was a bit fast, but overall I enjoyed it. I would recommend to someone wanting a cozy sci-fi book, or likes books about food.
I liked a lot the original idea of the book, that's what made me buy it. Unfortunately, only my obsession with closure and some willpower made me finish it.
I did not manage to connect with any character, the story lacked depth and felt like it was written for teenagers. Despite the enthusiasm with which I started it, the book did not engage me; there was a lot of action, but no character development and an underwhelming ending. From the blurb, I expected a silly romp about a restaurant at the end of the galaxy. Instead I cried through the first chapters.

It took me awhile to warm up to this story. But I've read Ferrett stories before, and so I trusted him to take me somewhere interesting. I was not disappointed. Boy oh boy, now I need the sequel now please.
Also, even the Acknowledgements is worth reading. Jeez. :)
