Any girl who has been on the receiving end of high school hostility for either being too cool or being not cool enough will find a bit of herself in one of the main characters here. Witty dialogue helps to keep this one from being entirely formulaic, though the outcome of each character's personal conflict is, perhaps, a bit too pat for today's readers.
