Un suceso fundamental en la vida del emperador Adriano ocurrió cuando su joven amante Antínoo, el griego de Bitinia, se ahogó en el Nilo en Octubre de 130. El imperio romano, además de haber sido uno de los más importantes de la historia de la humanidad, también le transmitió al mundo occidental una gran riqueza. Este libro habla sobre una época que demuestra el poderío y la cultura de dicho imperio.

Written by the same folks that compiled the Oxford Latin Dictionary, which is neither portable nor inexpensive. Amazon will kindly sell you the two-volume set at the discounted price of $385.10 (marked down from $450). Morwood's pocket dictionary is far less expensive; it is also far less complete. It's a pretty decent resource (although I prefer the Cassell's), and for the student, this is an excellent resource.

A reference useful for both reading and writing. It contains a thematic index and an index of proverbs. I keep it by my desk for handy access.

This little dictionary is a gem. I bought it to extend beyond the vocab so readily supplied by the numerous New Testament Greek helps (although it is useful for NT work also). It is not an analytical dictionary and has no references to usage in the literature - in this regard "Pocket" says it all. However, as a quick reference for the stumbling reader it is great.

In addition to the main lexicon it also has a (much briefer) English- to Greek section, a list of proper names (English->Greek), a chart of numerals (very helpful) and a table of principal parts for the top 101 irregular verbs. A couple of simple maps close this useful volume.

To top it all off, it has a good bold Greek font which is easy to read.
