A propos de ma bibliothèque

My library contains books with a focus on literature, philosophy, poetry, music, and historical works. I have books saved from my youth, as well as books from the Folio Society, biographies, and translated literature that I have gathered over the years. I concur with Proust when he said that a book could possess "magic as potent as the deepest slumber."

A propos de moi
My upbringing was surrounded by books. I have always been a book collector; our living room had book shelves lined with everything from classics to modern titles. I started doing this as soon as I could read. My varied reading preferences are primarily in the humanities. Through participation in literature classes and discussion groups I am continuing my education. Long ago, I received a BA in economics and an MS in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin. More recently I have been spurred by courses in the Basic Program of Liberal Education at the University of Chicago, Online Great Books, and other book groups.

"The sight of the cover of a book one has previously read retains, woven into the letters of its title, the moonbeams of a far-off summer night." - Marcel Proust --
