Easy read, steampunk Victoriana AU. Enjoyable adventure and characters. Well written book with an engaging plot, however the ending was a little abrupt, and it felt as if several things remained unresolved.

Aether Spirit by Cecilia Dominic
Aether Spirits series #3. Historical steampunk romance. Can be read as a stand-alone however the history of the two main characters is evolving and the prior books will give you more background to where this story starts.
Claire McPhee has amnesia after a medical treatment. Trying to regain her memory causes her blinding headaches. The medical chief, Chadwick causes Claire to faint and when she recovers, it’s with a headache and a feeling that she’s missing something important. Danger threatens as the two work together with the unknown.

Alternate history with paranormal “elements” and science make this an intriguing suspense novel. It takes place during the Civil War in the United States, unlike the first two that were across the pond. This third is more romance than the prior books, but it also leaves unanswered questions about the Aether, leading directly into the next book in the series.
I enjoyed the suspense but felt bad for both Claire and Chadwick as they clearly struggled to overcome their obstacles.
I’m looking forward to continuing to the next book.

Allow at least two days for this PG15 paranormal urban fantasy set mostly in Decatur, Georgia in October where the sleeping pill Dr. Kyle Creely gave her is having strange effects on reporter Audrey Aurora Sonoma of the Decatur Dish.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When epidemiologist Joanie Fisher’s life is thrown into a rather terrifying knot of confusion, the last thing she expects is to come into an inheritance from her recently deceased grandfather. What’s even more unexpected is the streak of missing children that, oddly enough, is happening in the same town in which her grandfather just mysteriously died in. To make matters even worse, it seems what’s happening in the town may just be tied to research she had been doing before her lab burned down. When too many coincidences begin making more sense, Joanie must come to terms with a surprising truth… I enjoyed the more medical-based perspective on lycanthropy that showed in this book and found the premise of this series intriguing.… (plus d'informations)
