What a fun read with mystery, suspense, psychic abilities, and even a little South Carolina voodoo! It was a quick read because I didn't want to put it down. I'm looking forward to reading books one through seven in the Sam Casey series and hope that S.D. Tooley has more in the works. ( )

When she and her husband Jake (both police detectives) get a call from on old friend and Jakes ex boss they find themselves in Heyward, South Carolina to help clear his name of murder.

Buried Secrets is the 8th installment of a Sam Casey Mystery but you don't feel like you have missed out on anything. The characters are written in such a way that you immediately feel like old friends. I love when the author takes the time to fill in a little back story so that it satisfies new readers. I was hooked from the first page until the last and never would have guessed the ending. This is a book that once you start you can't put it down. This may be my first book by S.D. Tooley but it won't be my last. I have added her to my favorite author list. I received this book from LibraryThing Members Giveaway for an honest review. ( )
