This group should be my easiest one for 2010 that I've already joined. As you can see I'm someone who just loves joining groups anxd talking to people everywhere so I figure one more group won't hurt. It will probably be fun for everyone involved here. Also, what do we do IF we're able to finish reading our 25 book challenge way early in the year? Do we just continue going on and seeing how many more we can actually complete by the end of 2010? Or should we just continue along with our 50, 75, 100 books read challenges or one of the many 101010 book groups we may all be members of? It may turn out that I'm biting off more than I can chew by joining so many different 101010 LT groups.

Anyway with each new year everyone starts out with a clean slate once more and no one knows what the future holds for them. Since I've been a member of LT here it seems the beginning of a new year give me renewed hope that this will finally be the year I finish reading all of the books in every category and set a new personal record for the number of books I read in a single year. A number that so far has eluded me like the 50 or 75 Books Read challenges or the 999 or the 999 Paranormal Book challeges. I may start out with very high hopes in the beginning of the new year but soon I find they are dashed upon the rocks and any hopes that I had of finishing any of my challenges for that year all go down the drain and I just find myself trying to read as many books as I possibly can since I have never been able to keep up the pace with anyone here in LT.

Come to think of it that could be part of my whole problem since I feel I'm in some kind of a race and competing against everyone else in that particular LT Book Reading group challenge and not trying to be myself. Also the other part of the problem is I really don't spend as much of my free time reaading books like I know I should be instead of doing something else that is taking time away from the time I should be reading a book.

the way i see it, if you read 25 books before the end of the year..you can stay..and keep adding to your thread..or move up to the 50-Book challenge..it's up to you..and anybody else..i will be lucky to make it to 25 books, myself...and don't worry..no one here is critical of your reading speed..least of all me. i always start out with High Hopes at the beginning of each year..but Life tends to throw curves...anyway, you're more than welcome to join me on January 1st..we can be each others' cheering section

*insert 'Hey Jude' joke here*

I love that optimistic 'New Year's Resolution' feeling everyone gets on LT. If you don't track what you read the New Year makes no difference, but it's nice to get that 'blank piece of paper' feeling here, starting a new thread and a new list for 2010. I can't wait!

25 books is right up my alley! You've got my support Jude! I'm overly-committed elsewhere, but I'll at least list whatever books I finish reading, once I finish them, here.

Ah, the Freeque appears....

you know, i am not a Boss here...however people want to list their books..is their business....but you, sir, are more than welcome to my humble, book-laden abode...and don't forget....January 1..or thereabouts...start your Thread and have at it........

I don't have as much reading time as I used to, so I'll start my 2010 goal at 25. If I finish this goal in good time maybe I'll consider one of the other challenges.

I enjoy supporting leadership and readership, Jude. So here I am. Waiting and ready to begin the new reading year as a member of "your" group.

I enjoy slow reading, myself, although I do read a lot, I don't care about the numbers, just the books and the authors and the other readers. The people here on LT make reading so much more personal and so much more fun.

Toodles, for now.

Count me in on your fun group Jude. I'm supporting you in your endeavor.

It is always fun to see what people are reading. I'm a member of the 75 challenge group and peeked in on the 50 challenge group in 2009 to discover Brenzi and Mark...They joined the 75 challenge group as well. I like the flexibility and the weaving in and out of various groups.

Thanks for starting this in in the New Year!

All good wishes.

Hello,
Please count me in. I'm also doing a 1010 challenge and have set a goal there for 30. I would love to do more, but the number of books I've read in a year has decreased over the last few. Hopeful that this year will be different...

Hi all. I will be joining this group for 2010. I am from the 25 Books in 2009 group. Only hit 18 in 2009. Some where rather lengthy or complex like Middlemarch and Foucalt's Pendulum. Ehh, enough of excuses. Let the fun begin!

>17 womansheart:
Yes, people here on LT keep you motivated!
