Has anyone read Crank by Ellen Hopkins? I'm almost finished and I want to know what people think about the book. So far I absolutely love it.

I loved that book. That was the first Ellen Hopkins book I read, and I read it about 3 years ago. She is an outstanding writer. After you finish that, you should read Glass. It's the sequal, and it's beautifully written. You should also read all of her other books.

I'm really sorry to say that I was not a huge fan of "Crank," but the only reason is because I'm not a big fan of free verse - I'm sorry, but I prefer blank verse written in iambic pentameter and octameter. Free verse is just tooooo easy to write and it has no structure.

But I have no problems if you anyone likes "Crank," if it gets people to think about poetry in a different light. But personally, I prefer "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe. The best.

There - I stood on my soap box, so now I'm stepping down!

I loved it. I have read several of her books. Unfortunately I read Glass first so I knew almost exactly what was going to happen in Crank. Although reading Crank helped me understand Glass I loved them both.
