This is my first challenge group! They always seem like good ideas but more than I have time for (these days). But this one accords with something I'm already doing informally, and can give me some more structure for it.

There's no way I'll get 50 in a year -- I'm damned lucky to read even one full-length (non-children's) book in a week, these days. (A sad come-down from the glory days of my youth when I read on average more than a book a day.) Instead, I'll just prioritize POC writers among what I *do* get read. Yaay!

Next to look for stuff for a reading queue.

I read fiction mostly within SF and, these days, children's books. Other books include almost anything but for purposes of this challenge I'll probably look for biographies, history, cultural and political affairs, identity studies.

In children's picture books this year I have so far read, and LOVED, two books by Jabari Asim -- my 1yo also loved them:

* Whose Toes Are Those?
* Whose Knees Are These?
