What can be done about duplicate Local venues? Currently there are two entries for the Barnes & Noble Booksellers store at 1805 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, one with a photo by me, and a second one where I added an event, not noticing the duplication.

My only solution for another situation like this was to change all the details about a Free Library branch duplicate to the information about a different branch, but that only works when I have another branch to add, which at some point I will no longer have. (There are 53 branches, and 11 are due to be closed.)

Go to one of the venues to be combined, and click on "edit venue info". At the right side of the edit screen is a link where you can request that the venue be combined with another.

Look at the venues. Remember the smaller venue number (i.e., the venue that was entered first) and go to the venue with the larger number (i.e., the duplicate venue). Then, on the larger-number venue page, click on "edit venue". From there, on the right-hand side, there is an option to "combine venue"; click on that and enter the venue number of the duplicate venue with the smaller number.

Looks like someone went through and combined all the venues on the list; that is, unless my browser didn't load the page properly and it only looks like the list is empty. But I'm going to assume the best. Thanks, LibraryThing staff!

I have asked for the Philadelphia Local venue entry
"Barnes & Noble Booksellers - Downtown (0.4 miles)" be combined with "Barnes & Noble Booksellers - Philadelphia - Walnut Street (0.4 miles)."

I await the change. Perhaps human staff intervention is required.

A staffer goes through the list once in a while and makes all the combinations. They just cleared out the list last week, so you might be waiting a few days (though I added a bunch of stuff to the list, so maybe intervention will come sooner).

BUMPING this because the list of requests for combination of venues on the Helpers page is pretty lengthy at this point. The couple that I have in the queue are just over a month old at this juncture which means the ones before me are older than that. Any ETA on this LT administrators?

7> I second the bookjones remarks. Many venue combinations await action, including some even older than a month ago.

It would be appreciated if someone could go through the duplicates list again, please thank you very much in advance.

Tim just ran this, and now he's given it to me to take a look-see through regularly. I've added it to my calendar, but if you see the list getting long just let me know.

Powell's main store, City of Books, is an absolute mess! This location was originally entered, way back when, as venue 3811. Much more recently, someone added it again, twice. Someone recommended combining the original venue into 75192; then another member added venue 78462. Looks like if anything, they should all be combined into the original venue 3811.

>15 jbd1: And then some! Thanks for fixing Powell's, but also for cleaning up the slews of combination proposals :-)
