When I click on the groups page: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups
My group images are out of whack
Group name: WHAT ARE YOU READING NOW is shown at bottom on the left of my list; BUT ...
Group avatar of this same group is shown as first (top) on the Right.
This has been happening for about a week. The group names / avatars sometimes shift (so a different group is affected), but the display wonkiness remains the same ... i.e. name of group bottom left, while avatar of same group on top right.

Sorry for the trouble. First, what browser and OS (operating system) are you using (e.g. Google Chrome, version 90 and Windows 7, etc.)? Do you have any browser add-ons or extensions installed?
Exactly what page are you viewing when you're seeing the "wonkiness"? I tried logging in as you and couldn't find anything awry on any of the Group pages. Are you able to post a screenshot of what you're seeing, so I can take a closer look?
If you log into LibraryThing on another browser or an incognito window, do you still get the same wonkiness?
Thanks!

I can confirm
Win 10, Firefox 113.0.2
Update: If you have it in list mode, that's where the view is off. IF you have it Icon mode, it looks fine.

AH. Okay, I'm seeing it, now. Firefox seems to be gradually bringing over groups from one column to the next as the screen size gets smaller/bigger, whereas Chrome will jump the entire group at once so it doesn't look split/buggy.
Here's some screenshots of me gradually making my screen smaller (in List view on Groups), and the Library Add Books Source Maintenance Group is getting split up...
1. Fine
2. Group thumbnail goes to next column as screen gets smaller
3. Part of Group name goes to next column as screen gets smaller
4. Group finally moves over to next column as screen gets smaller (and Welcome to LibraryThing! thumbnail is now split)

Oh, and I don't know how to change from list mode to icon mode
Also don't know how to make display larger / smaller.

Just tried signing in with Google Chrome ... and the display is as it should be.
So clearly an issue with Firefox.
And it started recently. Because I haven't changed my settings and I've used Firefox all along.

SO .. is there no fix for this? (Other than using a different browser...)
10kristilabrie
We haven't had time to fix this yet, unfortunately. It is on conceptDawg's plate! You may want to use another browser temporarily, if it bothers you too much. Thanks for your extended patience. (We've got quite a busy month preparing for the ALA Annual Conference, so I doubt this month will be very productive on the bug front, alas.)

Bump ... still patient, though
13kristilabrie
Thanks, maybe another month or two before we can tackle this but I appreciate the bump!

Thanks for the bump, I'll remind conceptDawg about this one.

Just updating to say that this is a bug in Firefox with how it handles the styling on those items (flex items). I'm trying to figure out a workaround but for now I haven't discovered anything that works as expected.
18conceptDawg
Ok. I think I've got a workaround that should fix it for firefox browsers. They just have a bug with how they flow flexbox items and I had to figure out a way to get around that.
Check it now and see if it's fixed for you.

I'm away from home and using a tablet, so it's not showing up. BUT when I get back home on my desktop, I'll check. Thanks for trying.
I'll report back next week.

Bump .... still happening.

Do you want to reopen this? Just sating bump doesn't do that.

>20 BookConcierge: What version of Firefox are you using? Can you update it any further?
24BookConcierge
One time when I opened the site the display was as it should be (a few weeks ago).
It almost immediately reverted to the wonky display.
So, for me, at least, the display is still not correct.

Sorry, but I still need to ask what version of Firefox are you using? Can you update your Firefox browser any further?
26BookConcierge
I don't know what version. How do I find that info?
27kristilabrie
If you open Firefox, there should be a Firefox menu you can open. Then, look for the "About Firefox" and open that. A pop-up should open showing you some number underneath "Firefox Browser" which is your version e.g. mine is fully updated at 119.0.1 (64-bit). You may see an option to update your Firefox there, if there's an update available.
Added thanks to >28 AnnieMod: - can you also give your operating system that you're using? e.g Windows 10, etc.

>27 kristilabrie: The menu is not named and they moved the About under Help awhile back. It is easier to show the symbol than to explain so here is an article to assist: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/find-what-version-firefox-you-are-using
Unless one had moved their menus around, the menu should be at the top right corner of the screen :)

By the way when I first signed in today, the display was "correct"
But as soon as I clicked on one of the groups, reviewed that info and then went back to the groups page ... the display is wonky again. S*I*G*H

>31 BookConcierge: Hmmm... did you change the size of your screen in any way?
I'm not seeing the Groups page change (I'm keeping my screen the same size the whole way through testing), but I am seeing more disjunction on Windows 10 / FF 119 at 1600 x 1200 resolution, with my "Hacking LibraryThing" Group in my account. The image is in one column and the group name is in the next.

Oh, what group? Maybe the group is causing something to sit in the cookies?
Also, screen size might be involved. I'm looking at it on a 23" monitor.
I ask because I can click through to five different groups but the problem doesn't return. But I may be going to a different group that >31 BookConcierge:

I use the Groups link in the brown banner to display MY groups . That's the display that is wonky.
I have a large screen desktop. Have NOT changed the size of the screen display. I did try that once, but it was too small for my tastes by the time I got the diplay to show correctly.

Which group do you click into that causes the break?
Pro and Con?
75 Book Challenge?
Green Dragon?
