Problems assigning ER winners?

I've been checking to see who won my latest giveaways, and the process choosing them seems to have stopped partway through sometime yesterday afternoon. A book where I offered 10 copies and had 63 requests only lists 9 winners; a second book with 20 offers and 35 requests only shows 7 winners so far. I'm waiting to send out ebooks until the process finishes.

A user cannot win more than 2 ebooks in the same batch I believe (and that only if they authorize it - without that, it is one book per batch) - which may mean that the rest of the people who requested your book are just not eligible as they won something else.

Someone from LT will need to confirm that there is nothing else going on but that may explain the numbers (especially considering the low number of requests you got).

If you were using Member Giveaway before, that had a different way of assigning winners. It was a straight lottery of the requesters.

Notifications went out yesterday. https://www.librarything.com/topic/341412

>3 MarthaJeanne: I had a book offered in the March ER batch, so my experience is not limited to Member Giveaway. I received a notice yesterday of a book I won, but unlike in the March batch, I have not yet received a notice of the winners for the books I am offering. I've only seen the current situation by looking at the Early Reviewers > Winners tab.

>1 gwernin: As AnnieMod notes, some of the limitations we impose may have led to this result. Specifically, the 2-book maximum per month for members may have cut down on those eligible to win, if some of the entrants had already won other books. Also, we are being somewhat stricter that we were, when it comes to enforcing our reviewing requirements.

>4 gwernin: You should have received an email from us yesterday, directing you to your ER winners tab. Did this not come through? I have a record on my end of having sent it to you (actually two emails, as there was a problem with the first). Have you checked your spam folder? I'm going to PM you, just to confirm that we have the right email on file.

>5 AbigailAdams26: Well, this is disappointing. So far I have only had reviews from 2 of the 10 March winners, and was hoping for better luck w/ the 20-book offer on The Fallen Stones. Maybe I can try that one again for the May batch, as the 6 months won't have been up until May 11?

>6 AbigailAdams26: I got an email from you yesterday regarding the book I won, but not regarding the ER winners as I did the previous month. I also got your message just now. And there was nothing from you in the spam folder. Perhaps there was a problem w/ your second email as well?

>7 gwernin: I'm sorry to hear about that review rating! Hopefully more reviews will start rolling in. We have definitely been tightening up our restrictions, in this area, and will also be rolling out a few related developments soon.

In terms of offering The Fallen Stones again, as long as it is within the publication parameters—forthcoming, or published within the last six months—you are welcome to do so. You can offer a specific title twice, in two monthly batches. You can also offer the same title twice in one month, if you are giving away multiple formats (print and ebook, for instance, or ebook and audio), although in my experience, this often shortchanges the ebook giveaway.

When it comes to the email, I'm not sure why it didn't get through. The problem I mentioned, with the first one, had nothing to do with the sending, but with some incorrect information. I am going to forward the email to you, from my outbox, and we'll see if that gets through.

>8 AbigailAdams26: Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Abigail. I've set up another giveaway for The Fallen Stones - it will be w/in the 6 months when the May batch starts.

And your email came through fine this time. btw, it's nice to be able to download the winners as a spreadsheet - saves a lot of copying and pasting into mine!

>9 gwernin: Sounds good! I'm glad the email came through (although not sure why it didn't before). I'm glad you find the new winners list download useful!

Closing as not a bug.
