I've got a compilation CD of Viennese waltzes - An Evening of Strauss, which is mostly by Johann Strauss II but also includes The Radetzsky March by Johann Strauss I.
I've included what I think is the correct way to input the composers, the CD is showing up in I but won't show up in II...
Help please?

The one with (II)? Maybe parenthesis is the problem. Maybe it treats it as metadata that way

I think it's because the book can't show up twice on the same "author page", which in this case is the Johann Strauss disambiguation page. I tried assigning the work to "Johann Strauss I" (https://www.librarything.com/author/straussijohann) instead of the "Johann Strauss" disambiguation page. Does that look better?

The other author attributions are a mess, but I see it on both pages.

I'm still only seeing it on one... I was fiddling around with my Strauss audio collection and may have inadvertently changed something trying to align my vinyl LPs with the CDs (and vice versa).
To be honest, I've been seeing a lot of cruft in the classical music section - mostly down to auto-combinations with Composer: Work Title. I've done my best to separate out what I'm adding but in some of the operas I've been adding I see what looks like a lot of libretto collections.

>5 Maddz: Which two pages are you looking on? I see it on both https://www.librarything.com/author/straussjohann-2 and https://www.librarything.com/author/johannstrausssr

Ah - I see the problem. Take a look at https://www.librarything.com/author/straussijohann
Does there need to be an alias or author combination?

hmm when I was looking at it earlier "straussijohann" (Johann Strauss I) was combined with "johannstrausssr" (Johann Strauss Sr) but now they have been separated and "johannstrausssr" (Johann Strauss Sr) has been combined with "johannstrauss" (the disambiguation page)
The problem here is that I think the way things usually go, all variations of Johann Strauss (both I and II) should be combined together and then disambiguated into two sub-pages. However, in that case we will never be able to get your work to show up on both author pages. What we actually need to make that happen is to separate the authors to whatever extent possible.

>8 norabelle414: Unfortunately, the only difference between the 2 Johann Strausses is their dates (and II's whiskers). Both have the same middle name - Baptist. To complicate matters, there's also Johann Strauss III - Johann Maria Eduard Strauss.
I suppose that particular CD can sit on II's page - all bar 1 one track is II.
Oh well - I don't think I have any of III's work, but I have a bunch of compilations to log and he might show up there.
