I've finished Beasts of Burden: Wise Dogs and Eldritch Men, in which Benjamin Dewey took over the Jill Thompson's duties. These are different group from the first book, showing the Wise Dogs, that is almost an animal version of the Trenchcoat Brigade. Very fun and sinister.

I am reading Doomsday clock. While it is no Watchmen, the story is very intriguing and Gary Frank's art is awesome.

I don't have many comics to read this month. I'm tackling the Contract With God Trilogy because my book club is discussing the middle section, A Life Force, this week. After that, for something fluffier, I have Blue Delliquanti's Meal.

Just have a couple of middle-grade graphic novels lately: Urban Legendz and New Kid

I am finishing Pluto by Naoki Urasawa in which an old Astro Boy story has a revamp. The tension build up, storytelling and the art are amazing.

I was re-reading Tales from the heart of Africa: Temporary Natives for my kid for a Black History Month-like homework. It is a slice-of-life of an american girl working for the Peace Corps in Central Africa Republic in the 80's. It is one of the comics that I can tell that taught me something that still reflects in my life.

Apok> The peace corps story sounds up my alley. Also, I loved Pluto!

I'm reading Black Hammer at the moment

>8 brianjungwi:
You can find some issues of Tales from the heart (which was the name of the series after it left Epic Comics) in Comixology and maybe in some libraries.

I fit in one more comic this month, another horror title, Emily Carroll's When I Arrived at the Castle. The art was great, but the story seemed half-baked. Not one of Carroll's best.

Whoops, I fell behind.

I need to try Emily Carroll - I've read nothing of hers.

I recently liked Joelle Jones take on Catwoman in Catwoman Copycats. I just re-read Neil Gaiman's graphic The Graveyard Book, with illustrations by P. Craig Russell and others. I loved the original Graveyard Book, and thought the first time around that the graphic adaptation was terrific. A re-read is confirming that. Can't wait to get to Volume 2.
