Earth Day Expo at WVUP Thursday April 21

I believe the next scheduled meeting (Feb 4) of MOVCA has been usurped by the Citizens and Candidates Town Hall sponsored in part by MOVCA and to be held in the City Council Chambers from 6:30 til 8:30 on that date. Just checked on the minutes of the last meeting - the cancellation of Feb 4 meeting is official.

I thought it might be easier to give you corrections in replies here, but I'm already starting to worry about clutter. Maybe I can delete my corrections after you edit your postings.

The group that meets at Sr. Molly's is currently calling itself the Faith Based Initiatives Group of MOVCA. Subject to change. I don't think they are comfortable with me calling them the FBI.

I attended MOVCA last evening. Want to remind people of the Just Dinner tonight at the Universalist Unitarian Fellowship Hall. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend, as I'm traveling.

First Show of Force coming up this Wednesday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the Parkersburg City Council Council Chambers at 1 Government Square, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

The Show of Force is in support of a part of the City of Parkersburg's 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan. The part we're interested in is the so-called Green Initiative. We have gathered some ideas from other places (namely Edmonton, Ontario in Canada and Greensburg, Kansas) that could help make Parkersburg the green community we so hope it will become.

We will be appearing before the Parkersburg City Council, so we're asking that only residents of Parkersburg actually speak, but we need other folks to show up wearing our group's buttons we've recently developed to show support for the ideas and the Green Initiative in general.

The Faith Based Initiatives group has settled into regular meetings on the second Thursday of every month. I will try to post the meeting locations as they are determined. Next meeting April 14.

If anyone is actually checking in here, I apologize for dropping the project. I've spent much of the past several months out of town with my very sick father.
