This year I vowed in February to read my TBR without allowing any purchases of new books. So far I have purchased a few new ones, but not near as many as usual. Ouch. Vow broken.
I have read 28 books from TBR so far, and about 30 from new and previously read. The best TBR was Rebecca Solnit: Field Guide to Getting Lost. I loved it. Anyone read it? The re-reads were wonderfully satisfying...like visiting an old friend. Shoes off and hot chocolate.
Oh, I found a stack in the back of a closet that are so old I don't remember buying them. Apparently, I did. No one else put them there. Among them was Babel Tower, A.S.Byatt, that is my next read. I know why I bought that one...the first sentences are marvelous!
