It's fascinating to imagine the other side in a sci-fi story, like if we were the aliens who invaded somebody else's home planet and wanted to take it over and not the other way around (as it is in most movies).
The person who wrote that must not be very well read. There are plenty of science fiction works with that premise. I guess he hasn't seen the movie Avatar either.

>2 bernsad: My favorite part: Humans are immune to all known Halting Problem attacks!
>3 jjwilson61: Funny, Avatar was what I thought of too, even though I haven't seen it. However, the point is to enjoy the humor.

What are the odds that evolution powered by natural selection wouldn't lead to a world in which intraspecies competition for resources and mates is common, let alone interspecies competition? It's not just humans that engage in brutal and violent competition with each other. Though, perhaps unique among such violent, earth-bound species, humans have the ability to both rationalize and revile such actions.

>5 Bretzky1: Of course. I can't imagine how zero competition could possibly be a Nash Equilibrium. But again, I think you're taking it seriously.
>6 Sandydog1: Afraid of humans? But they are so dumb and therefore harmless!
You're half right!
