I'm at home recuperating from surgery and have been tearing along through the Richard Sharpe series. Next in line was Sharpe's Skirmish. I trotted off to the B&N to pick it up to read while I've nothing else to do, besides think amorous thoughts towards Captain Sharpe, when I was told that it's out of print and can't be had. So, I ordered one up on alibris.com, which hopefully will be arriving soon.

Bought three for my personal library:

* Willpower Instinct by Kelly McGonigal (which I've already read but wanted to own)
* Superhealth by Steven Pratt (which I got from the library but liked enough {so far -- I'm still in the middle of reading it} to buy), and
* Christmas Pudding and Pigeon Pie by Nancy Mitford (I read the back and tried to get it from the library, but none of the libraries in the county own it...)

New Year's Resolution: to go on a bookstore diet. I reviewed my December expenditures -- thanks to extra discounts and some amazing sales, the year did not end well.

Bought one: The Splendour Falls by Susanna Kearsley. She's an autobuy for me. She writes contemporary fiction with more than a nod to the past and a pinch of fantasy.

Brought one ARC home: A Burnable Book by Bruce Holsinger. This is scheduled for March 2014 release. It's a late medieval mystery written by a man who's an historian.
