I have just imported all my books and I'm tidying them up now - adding covers, adding missing tags, etc. Now I am looking for the discussion of books. Anyone around?

Still trying to find my way around, but I'm here :)

Hi Abby. Are you reading anything good? I am listening to Tigers and Devils as an audiobook.

Wow, linking is really easy!

Just started Zero at the Bone
D's voice is throwing me off a bit, but I'm really enjoying it.

You're right, linking is really easy

Some of the GR refugees have set up a little lifeboat area for figuring out how to use all this new stuff.

Take a look and feel free to chime in with comments or questions :)

I'm from GR, joined yesterday. I'm reading Three Traders, the second book in the free online series Falls Chance Ranch, by Rolf and Ranger.

There's another refugee group? Because the one I joined was called Refugees.

I wonder if the instant link thingie works for non-ISBN books? Let me try it:

Falls Chance Ranch

That is so cool. You just put square brackets around the title and it tries to find your link. Three Traders didn't work though.

>4 Abby_K.: Yeah, I remember that about Zero at the Bone. It was good enough to be worth getting used to D's voice, but a lot less of it would have been preferable IMO.

I know one pitfall for former GR folks: you are only allowed to list books you have or have read or want to read. No list of books you'll never read because of Badly Behaving Authors or whatever.

How do I join The Lifeboat? It says it is private.

9> You are allowed to list any book you like for any reason whatsoever. I have a category I call type of book I no longer read. I actually have read the books in this case, but I unchecked the use in recommendations box and the use in connections box. In this way, I don't get recommendations based on these books and it is not used in connection news. Any place where you are able to change the collection that you add a book to, you can click on edit collections. This is where you can add your NEVER EVER read this book collection and most likely, uncheck the use in recommendations box and the use in connections box.

See http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/Collections for a better explanation & happy cataloging!
