I got this book from the library 4 or 5 years ago--it was a newly-published, large coffee table book with color photographs. Each photo featured a family from a different country, standing outside their house with all their possessions. It was very interesting, and I'd like to look at it again, but can't remember the title.

Yes! A great book of comparative cultures. Every 'first world' child should see this.

That reminded me of another book that I recommend, and I see it has a series - Children Just Like Me.
It offers a similar comparative process with wonderful photography.

There's another similar one, also by Peter Menzel, titled Hungry Planet, that shows families with their food for a week.

Hungry Planet is an excellent book, so interesting, the comparison of people's lives and what they get to eat, and how hard or easy it is to get it.

Peter Menzel is actually on a roll with this theme. He has also published a new book, where he photographs all the food a person eats in one day, with many different people from all around the world, What I Eat. It's a toss-up which is more fun, this or Hungry Planet. Both are fascinating.
