And it's a murder mystery with an animal for the hero. (1), scarier than any fictional tale. Well written and cleanly paced. (1), This book and this case obsessed me back in the day. Fascinating case made more so by the author's actual involvement with Jeffrey MacDonald. Excellent true crime novel. (1), and more to love. Jesse Stone goes to his job interview drunk and still gets the job as new Police Chief of Paradise. Whassup with that? Parker writes lean and crisp and fast paced. Love it. (1), but this one with its star crossed lovers and time travel theme snagged me. Still the original and best of the genre. (1), sardonic and interesting. Carl Hiaasen writes about the big money bass tournaments and the quirkiness that is part of Florida life. Sharp and clever but not mean spirited. (1), It compares to "The Stand" and holds its own with a vengeance. A post apocalyptic tale about Swan (1), and a boy growing up. One of my favorites. (1), This book deserves more attention. Magical realism at its best (1), The first in another great Bernard Cornwell series. Meticulously researched and fleshed out with great characters (1), What was Sophie's Choice? The answer is devastating. Good book. (1), Who was Clark before he was Clark? An excellent tale with characters you will recognize from almost every other Clancy novel. Very good. (1), Pi's survival in a lifeboat with assorted animals is a veiled account of survival with various human "animals." Well done. (1), Read the novel and see what the movie cut out. Big story (1), training and the "300" told by a slave who grew up with the warriors. Captures the warrior ethos and the battle at the Gates most realistically. Stays with you after you've done.
