I have everything I would need to provide a comprehensive liberal arts education from pre-K to 12th grade and beyond, and thousands (if not millions) of hours of pleasurable reading. I recently shaved over a thousand books from my library, a little over a quarter of my total shelf space! I have the books ready to be sold to a library, school, or group but haven't been able to actually put them up for sale yet. It's hard to let go of your books! My library covers many genres, from children's classics and story books to classical literature to The Great Books to history to cookbooks, math, science, theater and philosophy. I've read most of the books that I have but I've still got lists and lists of books that I still want to read.

I was tested at 12th grade reading level when I was in 2nd grade and I've never looked book. I remember the school librarian telling me I couldn't check out "Little House on the Prairie" because I "couldn't read that book." I tartly replied that "I can TOO, read it!" I wouldn't let it go and she tried to find the most challenging passage in the book to prove me wrong. I read it perfectly much to her chagrin and she had to allow me to check it out. Books are the best escape and the best roadtrip to every imaginable corner of the world. I love my books and I love my Kindle, too.
