Really needed a proper editor. The three author approach makes for discontinuity . The Rosslyn Institute, where it all happened, is given a different name almost every time it's mentioned with explanations in brackets (OK so it changed its name - who cares?). It's a complex subject and as read I got deeper and deeper out off my depth: technical terms, acronyms and initials, multi-dimensional questions... some writers can bring this complexity to life for the general reader, Gould, Dawkins, Ridley, even the rather bitchy James Watson. Some parts are tiresome but overally it is a good explanation of how Dolly came to be and the future of cell research.

Scientists will especially appreciate Ian Wilmut's description of the research process leading up to the successful cloning of Dolly. The thoughtful book takes a difficult, but highly relevant, scientific topic and renders it easy to understand without dumbing ideas down.
