This gentle, sweet romance features a new optometrist in town and a woman who needs glasses after three decades without any. For Danica, this is an unsettling event. It becomes even more so when she hits her head in Dr. Urban's office. She is not badly hurt, but she finds her emotions are affected by the handsome doctor, who Danica's best friend labels Dr. McHottie.

When Danica and Dr. Urban discover they are both volunteers helping students at a literacy initiative, their friendship deepens as they put their all into getting the pupils in their care to read. There's such tenderness and hope this delightful story. I really enjoyed it.… (plus d'informations)

Twin sisters, one jilted at the altar, the other one trying to support and show love to her twin, create the backdrop for this story. The perfect summer read, Anna Worthington winds up visiting Key West for what should have been her twin sister Brie’s honeymoon. But the trip becomes so much more than Anna expected. I loved the inclusion of Anna being a jewelry designer and finding her own way.

Gunnar’s willingness to care for his aging friend Jack also helps bring this book to life. The setting and the details provided about the setting along with the food and the encounters of various characters in the book bring it to life in a way that kept me reading. I loved seeing the development of Anna and Gunnar’s characters along with the development of their relationship. The author takes time to convey emotion and a normal course of a relationship developing rather than making it feel rushed. Also, she does an excellent job of portraying that a genuine relationship takes work, compassion, understanding, and more to be successful. So if you enjoy books set on an island or ones that involve creative or caring people, check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

What I think you should know:
Island Charm is a Christian Contemporary Beach Read by Audrey Wick. It is a standalone novel largely set in Key West, Florida.

What you might need to know:
Gunnar takes care of his friend/mentor with dementia.
While it is a Christian story I did not feel strong Christian themes until the devotional at the end of the book.

What I think about this book:
I was super intrigued by the premise of the story, going on your twin’s honeymoon when her groom cancels the wedding. Wick did a great job of whisking me away to Key West and making me wish I could taste the pie. I really enjoyed how she described the Island and the people on the Island. I enjoyed this sweet story and how Anna and Gunnar’s romance unfolded, the story progressed quickly without feeling rushed. This is a perfect light beach read or read when you are dreaming of the beach.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
