A collection of a series of articles written by the author in the Firm Foundation in 1967 primarily regarding the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

The work is an exemplar of polemics regarding the Spirit and the view that the Spirit works in the life of believer only through the medium of the written Word of Scripture.

The book is no longer in print but its influence remains. Whereas I might share many of the same opponents as the author did, I do not find his reasoning regarding the Word only position persuasive, and his argumentation is often rather weak, built purely on rational presupposition and deductive logic, not anything explicit in revelation, is primarily based on a major category error, does not define the Word nor does it ask of the passages regarding the Word what is asked of passages regarding the Spirit, leads to dogmas whereby the tail wags the dog, and ultimately is polemically derived and not based on sound, sober reliance on God's revelation about the Spirit in any holistic way.

But, as an exemplar of the argument and to understand how many have arrived at their position, the book is invaluable.

This video is an excellent introduction to the Book of Revelation. It cuts through the different symbolism John uses to give viewers a message of hope and encouragement.
