During the Second World War, a small group of students at Munich University begin to question the decisions and sanity of Germany’s Nazi government. The students form a resistance cell which they name the “White Rose” after a newsletter that is secretly distributed to the student body. At first small in numbers and fearful of discovery, the White Rose begins to gain massive support after a Nazi Gauleiter nearly incites a student riot after a provocative speech. Durante la II Guerra Mundial, un grupo de estudiantes alemanes de la Universidad de Munich, conforman un grupo llamado: “La Rosa Blanca “, de abierta oposición al nazismo que se alzaron contra Hitler y que cuestionaban las decisiones del gobierno.
Los miembros de la Rosa Blanca fueron testigos de las atrocidades nazis, tanto en el campo de batalla como en el Holocausto, y eran conscientes de que el revés que la Wehrmacht había sufrido en Stalingrado finalmente llevaría a Alemania a la derrota. La Rosa Blanca adoptó una postura enérgica contra Hitler en febrero de 1943, repartiendo folletos y pintando propaganda antinazi por todo Múnich, principalmente en las puertas de la Universidad.
En febrero de 1943, líderes del movimiento los hermanos Hans y Sophie Scholl fueron detenidos, cuatro días después eran condenados a muerte y ejecutados, junto con los demás miembros poco después de la capitulación alemana en Stalingrado.

Sonya is a German high school student who decides to write an essay about her town’s history during the Third Reich and its resistance to it. To her dismay, and more so the town’s, she uncovers instead definite collaboration during the period.
