On one of the worst nights of their lives two people meet and help each other heal themselves. When Ashley is dumped by her boyfriend of 3 years, she goes to drown her sorrows and that’s where she meets a kindred spirit in Nik. Nik was shot down from his proposal to his recent girlfriend, so he is out also drowning his sorrows, him and Ashley find that they not only enjoy each other’s company but that they like each other. I loved this story of heartbreak turning into so much more and the emotions that was so heartfelt turned me into mush. Nik was absolute perfection in all ways, he loved hard, cared even more, and was always there for Ashley throughout everything. These two have a serious chemistry that flows so well, and I loved both, I couldn’t stand her sisters but especially how horrible grace was to her. I wanted to smack her sister so much because she was horrible to Nik and Ashley, I thought she was forgiven too easily and no matter her excuses she went too far in my opinion because family or not she was a major (insert words that means the opposite of nice). Nik had me at quoting Chase Rice lyrics and comparing their love to Beth and Rip from Yellowstone. That man could have even me eating out of the palm of his hands. A great and emotional story of two people coming together, to be, together, and love together.… (plus d'informations)

It took a bit too long to get past her fears of getting involved. I loved the first parts but slowed too much after that for my tastes.

This isn't your typical brother's best friend romance, mainly because Chloe didn't know she had/has a brother until her mother's deathbed confession. She doesn't have time to deal with that. Or she refuses to anyway. Her mother told her so she wouldn't be alone. But that's how Chloe prefers to be. No attachments, no heartache.

Rex loves his part time bartending gig at his best friend's bar. Any time he needs to scratch in itch, he doesn't have to go far. He doesn't have to work for it much either. But that all changes when he sees a woman crying in the bar. It's not that hasn't happened before, but she's different. Everything about her is different. He lets her into his heart. But what happens when his idiot brother comes into the bar? Will he yet again steal his girl like he has in the past? It doesn't help that when she meets his best friend, things don't go very well.

Van Wyk reminds us that family isn't always picture perfect, sometimes it's pretty dysfunctional. That dysfunction doesn't have to be a bad thing. Sometimes the family we create is better than those we share DNA with.
