The Oregon was witness to half a century of American history. This book fits this story into about 120 pages with great emphasis of the events leading up to Oregon's glorious beating of the inferior and outgunned Spanish fleet at the Battle of Santiago de Cuba. It is not particularly well-written, but it is not difficult to read. It is not overly technical. I enjoyed it.

A pedestrian account of the life of the Battleship Oregon, a pre-Dreadnought, instrumental in the Spanish-American War. Here the author is better than his life of C.S. Forester, but this is about his level.

This is a book without much skill. There is a very bald biography of Forester, and the plot outlines of his books. I note in adding this book that the author has reworked the material under an expanded title. I'm glad this one preyed on his conscience.
