Catherine sloper lives in Washington Square with her father(Dr. Austin) and her aunt(Lavinia). Her father is very strict but she falls in love with a handsome young man. However her father wonders why he wants to marry Catherine because he think that Catherine is not beautiful.

At first, I thought that the young man wanted her money because she had much money, that is to say, she is very rich!
So I agreed with her father's thought. I couldn't understand his behavior because suddenly he went away to NY. As they grew up, they met again, and he said to her that he didn't want to meet her again. This story was very boring for me.… (plus d'informations)
