Pros: Great exposure to a subculture, digs in deep to issues of race, interesting and previously uncovered historical scholarship about spelling as a nationalization project
Cons: The focus on the race, while fruitful, neglected the intersection with class, which left many parts of the extrapolation she does to all of "Gen Z" feeling incomplete. This is the generation with so much income inequality -- we are really going to ignore that most people can't afford a spelling coach or entrepreneurial drive?
