- Jacques de Saint Victor began his career as a lawyer and lecturer at the Sorbonne, then became a journalist with Le Figaro. In 1996, after earning his doctorate in legal history, he became a university professor, while remaining a literary columnist and critic. He is the author of several books on the history of political ideas, including liberal thought, systems of law, and organized crime. He's a member of the editorial board and co-editor of the journal Cities and a member of the editorial committee of Revue des deux Mondes, the oldest continuous periodical in France. Since 2009, he has been a professor at the Université Paris VIII Vincennes-Saint-Denis. His research also focuses on the legal history of globalization. He's also a visiting professor at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
