Jerry Sage

A really good read. Col. Sage was a part of the 'Great Escape', prior to all the americans being moved to a new camp. This move likely saved his life. His account of his various escapes and life in between the russian and german armies is captivating. He seems to have been a majority of the character composite that was played by Steve Mcqueen in the movie, but the real man is (not surprisingly) far more interesting than the abridged film version.
