Mir hat die Umsetzung von Philip Reeves Buch gut gefallen. Das Buch sollte man vorher gelesen haben, um das Original und was daraus gemacht wurde, besser vergleichen zu können.

Loosely derived from the riveting novel by Philip Reeve, this movie, boasting talented actors and outstanding special effects, is just a hackneyed mess. I couldn't watch it.

This is one of those "I probably should go read the book now" films because it has sequels.

There was an event and the world cracked and now the cities are motorised and roam the land looking for resources. Heather Shaw wants to stop London, or at least the man who plans to bring back a frightful weapon, from getting too much power. She mostly wants to kill him for killing her mother. However she ends up finding allies and friends who want different things and all have to work together to find common cause. It's an interesting look at a future with scarce resources and complicated lives.½
