Well written short stories. I look forward to this arthors longer stories. My kids enjoyed them immensly. Exellent for story time and nice way to spend an hour or so in the sun.

This collection of short stories had great content, and a lot of potential. A bit of tightening of loose threads and closer editing would have improved the book. Perhaps it was just a translation issue, and is not present in the original text. That being said I enjoyed the stories and the themes they addressed.

A very interesting read of short stories. They read like fairy tales and have a great message to them. Some of the endings felt they needed work, and in general it could use some editing or proofreading. Overall, it felt like a work in progress.
Ms. Nikolaus give us a set of short stories - fairy tales if you please. I found the story "The Brook" as the best written, most coherent of the set. Cork places a second, but I find the ending needs tightening. Also I would suggest that a goof proof reading by a professional editor will make this copy ready for prime time. Good environmental messages here - nice story lines and following a nice fairy tale trend. Perhaps if Ms. Nikolaus were to sit down with the now Banned Grimms - perhaps she could see how the greats of old spun a tale. I look forward to seeing more stories by this author.
