I write fiction and nonfiction books for children. My debut picture book, Not Little (Neal Porter Books / Holiday House, 2021) was named a 2022 ALA Notable Children's Book; the follow-up Not Perfect will publish in 2024. I'm the author of the forthcoming Rosie Woods chapter book series (Capstone, 2024), a set of fairy tale-inspired school stories, including Little Red Writing Hood, Jack and the Bean Shock, Rosielocks and the Three Bears, and The Three Billy Goats Graph. I wrote the National Geographic Kids Little Kids First Big Book of Baby Animals, as well as several titles in the NGK Readers series.
I have worked as a freelance editor since 2012. I provide developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading to major publishers, individual authors, and corporate clients. In books, I work with both fiction and nonfiction; as a former teacher and literacy teacher, and as a traditionally published children's author, my knowledge of children's and YA literature is particularly strong, but I am also happy working on adult titles. For small businesses, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, I help to refine and perfect website and marketing copy, newsletters, corporate bios, and press releases.
