Train Your Brain by Christopher Michaels is an incredibly good book! A quick read but definitely something I will go back to over and over again. I have always had a terrible short term memory and have always had to rely on list and others reminding me when something important had to happen, and frankly I was sick of it. This book taught me to find the memory games that work for me instead of the memory games that are popular, and helped shed light on where my memory needs work and how I can build it up in a way that works for me specifically, as opposed to the generic memory games you're given as a child. That frankly didn't work a bit on me personally. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who has a problem with walking into a room and forgetting what you went in there for.… (plus d'informations)

This is a great book for anyone who has problems with basic memory retention. I have a terrible memory and was looking for something I could start working with to grow my memory connections, and this is definitely it. This book with not solve your memory problems immediately, and is best used over a period of time as you work with the games at least once a day. I'm definitely going to be working with this book again to take my time on it and use these games to further my memory capacity. I fully recommend this book to anyone who has problems with their memory, and is looking for something to work with over time.… (plus d'informations)

As the title suggests, this book's main theme is tips on how to improve your self esteem. It is a rather short read (on my kindle the end of the book was at 72% and the remainder was boasting of the author's other works) with each of the 7 chapters only taking up a few pages, each addressing a specific issues, its supposed cause, and a couple bullet points on how to solve the issue. When I started this book I was greatly looking forward to its content but within the first few pages I was greatly disappointed.

The book starts off by plainly stating that an individual's low self-esteem is all in their head. Right there is a problem, treating a possible mental disorder (such as depression) as something you can just simply think away. I'm sorry but that's not how it works. Throughout the book bold statements are made as if fact but at no point is researched cited, only mentioned as "some researchers..." I would not recommend this book to anyone actually suffering from low self esteem because I believe this book could possible do more damage than good. It is for these reasons that I rated this book so low.

I gave this book an additional .5 stars instead of just a 1 because if you are individual stuck in a rut but suffer no mental disorder, skimming through this book's bullet points may be of some use in pointing out the obvious steps to picking yourself back up. Again, though, if you are some one suffering and looking for a way out of low self-esteem that has lasted for any long amount of time, I do not recommend this book for you. There are a number of other books out there that would be of much better use and with scientific backing.

I receive this book in exchange for an honest review.

I find this book really good if you are searching where you need to invest time in training. It is quick to read since it resumes each step you need to be good at or develop. When I was reading it at each small step some time I had an example of things I already did or not, in that case I took the title for further research later.
