This is a cute bedtime book about nighttime dream adventures. Maddie wishes on a star that she could visit the moon just before falling to sleep. In her dreams, she and her stuffed bear Murphy end up on the "far side of the moon." They end up at the 'command station', and make a new friend. This was where the story became a bit silly when they had to change a lightbulb in a star using special backpacks to get there and back. I was a little disappointed with the illustrations, but children will probably like them. It is definitely geared to young children.… (plus d'informations)

Carlathelibrarian | 1 autre critique | Feb 5, 2019 | Lauren Micchelli's books are cheerful and burst with fun ideas and this one is no exception.
A Day Of What Ifs challenges young children to imagine, what if things were different. What if the sky was green and the grass was blue? Or what if we would wear gloves on our feet instead our hands? Would it work?
The quirky rhymes will easily lead to further discussions and questions, as well as they offer lovely inspirations for drawings.
The illustrations are colourful and vivid and my son loved to look at them. There are marshmallow pies flying through the sky and fish swinging from tree to tree.
As the story ends with "sleep tight and sweet dreams" it's the ideal bedtime read.… (plus d'informations)

The first thing which stuns me, that it's Snootzytime for Maddie and Murphy and not Snoozytime. I was hoping to find some explanation in the book, why the word is here spelled with an extra "T", but found none and can just assume, it's because the adventures are of a little girl and her favourite stuffed animal, the dog Murphy.
Maddie loves to look at the moon and her mother tells her, if you wish upon a star, it may come true. As it's bedtime, Maddie snuggles up with her cuddly toy Murphy and is soon fast asleep.
All of a sudden she wakes up and finds, that she's floating in zero gravity. Luckily Murphy is with her and tells her, they are on the far side of the moon. They see a light in the distance and when they get closer they find a door with the words Control Center on it and behind the door the two meet a rather cute alien.
Turns out, the alien needs help, as one of the stars has burned out and a light bulb change is required. Maddie and Murphy are happy to be of assistance and give their best to "bring the star back to light".
Far too soon it's time to say goodbye to the alien and the moon and Maddie finds herself falling until she wakes up in her bed.
Sadly, it was all just a dream. But wait! What's that? Was it really just a dream?
The book, which is enhanced with sweet pictures on every page, is a cute little story, which makes a lovely bedtime read for small children.… (plus d'informations)

This is definitely a book that will put a smile on a young child's face and will be one of those books that the very young would like to read again and again. By beautifully capturing the imagination of a kid and the relationship of friendship, this book is the perfect example of a children's book.
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
