Cute but disappointing.
Pretty much 'Fade to Black' sex scene. So that was a failure.

Jessica McBrayer heats things up with JUDE'S SWEET FIRE (Savannah Heat #1). NHL star, Jude Christensen rescues a kitten. He rushes it to the vet where he meets Dr. Megan James. He attempts to get her to go out with him. Simultaneously, Megan’s ex is out of prison for the attempt of murder, and he found her. This story takes place in Savannah, Georgia. It is suitable for adult readers.

I love both hockey and animals, so this book was perfect for me. I love that the kitten Jude rescues is a Maine Coon. I have a Maine Coon. They are great cats. I thought it was appropriate that he named him Gordie. The name suited him.

I liked Jude and Megan. Jude is brave and persistent. Megan is smart and a fighter. The two have great chemistry. Megan’s ex, Charles, made a good antagonist. He added suspense and drama to the story.

This is the first book that I have read by Jessica McBrayer. I enjoyed her writing style. The plot was skillfully executed. There were interesting twists in the story. It was believable and well laid out. The novel had a great ending that felt properly concluded. I look forward to Xander’s and Rachel’s story, WINTER’S WARMTH. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This was a good solid story about witches, with a little bit of vampires thrown in. The main character, Thorn, is a witch who owns a tattoo parlor. I really enjoyed the first few chapters, getting to know Thorn, and getting the plot of the serial killer set up. But then, the story evolved into a basic hunt for the serial killer, with Thorn becoming both a target, and the only person who can stop the killer. Overall the book was an enjoyable read.

Hell Hounds are for Suckers by Jessica McBrayer and narrated by Valerie Gilbert is a fun book about a goth vampire, a lost "puppy", and a demon. There are more interesting characters too! The puppy ends up being a bit more than a regular dog! He barks fire! Yep, not your normal hound. Cute story.
Narration was very good!
