Description and commentary on prints from the James A. Michener collection in the Honolulu Academy of Arts. I bought the book because I am a Michener fan and have collected a large number of the books he has written or have been written about him. This book is intended for aficionados of the Japanese wood block print art form. It describes and shows primitive (1700s) imprints by important artists of that time, prints that are part of the Michener collection. It is an art book and doesn't pretend to be anything else. I'm glad I have it and I'm sure I'll look at it from time to time, the way I already do with my copies of the four books on the art form that were written by Mr. Michener himself.… (plus d'informations)
